'24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE' opens in Iceland

The new English film, 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE, by Michael Winterbottom, opened on Set. 6th in Iceland. It is released by IFC and marks the beginning of a considerable increase in aquisitions and distribution of foreign quality titles in Iceland for IFC.

The film is the first of several titles aquired this year by IFC at Cannes this year to open in Iceland. Winterbottom is one of the most respected English directors today and among his older films are Jude, Welcome to Sarajevo and Wonderland. 24HPP was selected for Official Selection at Cannes and has gotten rave reviews both in England and USA. Roger Ebert for instance gave the film two thumps up and 4 stars.
