World Sales Rights for FALCONS signed to BavariaThe Icelandic Film Corporation has made a deal with Bavaria concerning FALCONS, the new film by Fridrik Thor Fridriksson. Bavaria will handle all rights for the film worldwide. In addition, Bavaria aims to secure rights for Fridrik Thor's older titles plus the rights to future projects of IFC. In the shortest period of time, Bavaria Film International has established itself as the home of European films that make a difference because their approach is distinct while their visual language is striking and their stories have the make-up to travel beyond national borders. Always reflecting their own love for the art of cinema, Bavaria Film International set out to prove a case for film-making from Europe. With Academy Award® nominated BEYOND SILENCE by Caroline Link, Joseph Vilsmaier's COMEDIAN HARMONISTS or Tom Tykwer's international hit RUN LOLA RUN – accumulating over $7 mio at the US box office –, Bavaria Film International demonstrated the commercial success of European films. Firm alliances with German directors and producers of their library guarantee the first look at the best product to come. Meanwhile, Bavaria Film International has expanded into the international field handling projects of international scope as Jean-Jacques Beineix' MORTAL TRANSFER or HOW HARRY BECAME A TREE by Goran Pascaljevic. Fridrik Thor's next film, entitled NICELAND, and IFC's next project COLD LIGHT, both start shooting this fall and negotiations are under way with Bavaria to worldwide rights to both films.
