Synopsis

A non-dialouge comedy about the mishaps of a low-life pickpocket who knows a few magic tricks.

He may not be the world's best magician, but he surely is the most self-confident. SKARI hardly ever speaks, he dances on stage and performs some rather lousy magic tricks. He may not be the world's best magician, but he surely is the most self-confident. After serving a prison sentence of several years, Skari can't face another day in the bin. Using his skills as a magician he manages to escape.

Returning to town Skari realizes that the world has changed radically while he has been away. His good old street is now in the seediest part of town - the "Red Light District". Strip tease joints now line his once so peaceful and quite street. Prostitutes stroll down the pavement and their clients cruise by in their shining automobiles.

But there is a more serious matter Skari is worried about; going into prison he left his daughter Dorothea at the kindergarten, which is where she still is, after all this time! Although she's almost an adult now, Dorothea has never been out of the kindergarten. She knows nothing about life. Especially not in the "Red Light District".

Skari finds himself between two fires; he has to raise his daughter - on the run from the law.
