Brilliant! Fantastic! Horror fans have been waiting years for a movie like 'Cabin Fever.' I loved it!"
-Peter Jackson, Director of the 'Lord of the Rings' Trilogy

An offbeat horror tale about a group of five college friends on vacation at a remote mountain cabin when one contracts a flesh-eating virus. As it spreads among the friends, their true feelings and personalities emerge as they struggle to survive the virus and each other.

The film was an overnight success in Toronto 2002 where it played in the Midnight Madness program. In the end Lion's Gate won the race and aquired the film for a healthy sum of money.

The film opened in USA on Septembe 12th, took in $8.5m and went straight to number 3. It has now taken more than $20m in USA.

Director Eli Roth got the idea for the film in Iceland 10 years ago, while staying here with his parents, who were working here. Eli will visit Iceland for the premiere of the movie, first time in 10 years.
