Company Profile 

Founded in 1987 by Fridrik Thor Fridriksson, The Icelandic Film Corporation is Iceland's leading film production company, producing or co-producing the majority of all feature films made in Iceland.

IFC is currently developing or producing 80 per cent of all projects fromdirectors and writers in Iceland and has for the past ten years been the main employer and trainer of film professionals, both artistic and technical.

Our staff are experienced in international co-productions, financing and marketing, and have developed long-term working relationships with partners abroad.  
 
Our international co-productions have benefitted from the Icelandic Government's tax incentive program, where films can be reimbursed for up to 12% of their production expenditure in Iceland. Our staff has hands on experience in all the necessary legal work and can assist you in making your productions qualify for the program.

IFC has built up studio facilities and production and post-production equipment and facilities (camera, lighting, grip, editing computers etc). CINEMA SOUND is a sound post-post production company owned by The Icelandic Film Corporation. Cinema Sound facilities include a Dolby digital sound-mixing studio.

The Icelandic Film Corporation has a back catalog of more than 50 feature titles and several shorts and documentaries. The company handles the distribution of its own titles in Iceland as well as the aquisition and distribution of foreign quality films in Iceland .
